Youth Services

The Buckley Air Force Base Youth Programs are provided to assist DoD military and civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of family life and the accomplishment of the DoD mission. The Buckley AFB Youth Program is an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Club of America & 4-H.

Membership fees are $40 for the school year (Sept 1-31 May) and $40 for the summer (1 June-31 Aug) and participants in the Buckley Air Force Base Youth Programs have access to high quality, developmentally appropriate program resources and materials in the following areas:

  • Character and Leadership Development
  • Education and Career Development
  • Health and Life Skills
  • Sports & Fitness
  • The Arts

The Youth Center is located on 17851 E. Breckenridge Ave, Bldg 351, on Buckley Air Force Base.

Some of the Buckley AFB Youth programs include:

  • AF Youth of the Year
  • AF Aviation, AF Teen Leadership, and AF Space Camps
  • AF Teen Council
  • AF Youth and Family Talent Shows
  • Missoula Children's Theater
  • Fine Arts and Photography Competitions

Other activities include Youth field trips, sports clinics, Saturday Fun Days, and other Special Events. The Youth Center is located at 17581 E. Breckenridge Ave, Bldg 351, on Buckley AFB.

School Age Care Program

Before/After school care is available for school aged children from 5 years to 12 years old. Children attending Vista Peak and Edna & John W. Mosley schools will be transported to and from school. The program has 24 spaces and there is currently no waiting list.

School Age Care Program provides safe, supervised, healthy, accountable, and developmentally appropriate programs for youth. School age care is available on school holidays and summer vacations. The School Age Care Program provides a full range of fun, educational and recreational programs. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided.
