Government Housing

There is only privatized housing aboard NSA Mid-South. All military personnel are required to check-in at Navy Housing. You can pick up an application from Navy housing or visit our website. There are approximately 280 housing units on base. The average wait time for those interested in moving into base housing is 0-3 months.

Pets -- There is a 2 pet limit to reside in Navy housing. Dogs not allowed are German Sheppard, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Wolf Hybrids, Chow Chows, Doberman Pinschers, Siberian Huskys, and Perro de Presa Canarios.

Single Service Member Housing

All single sailors E-4 and below are required in live on base. All rooms aboard NSA Mid-South are single occupancy. Rules and regulations are given to active duty members for signature once a room has been assigned. There are apartments and duplexes available for rent. Most apartments are available on a long term basis and come unfurnished.

Exceptional Family Member Housing

There are 3 units available for special needs family members. For photos, you can visit our website. All housing units are air conditioned. Generators are not available for families with significant medical needs who require power for their medical equipment. Mid-South Family Housing allows special needs families to be listed at the top 10% of the housing waiting list. You must be enrolled in the EFM Program and your special need must be documented on both the outgoing command's housing application and the receiving command's housing application. You must also receive a housing letter of approval from your MTF Coordinator. For additional questions or concerns please visit the NPC website

Non-government Housing

The housing market is described as a buyer's market and the cost of living is considered moderate.

Rental Options

Apartments, duplexes, and multi-unit dwellings range from $700 for a one bedroom to $1100 for a three bedroom, per month.  Four bedroom houses are limited and rent for $1250 a month and up, three bedroom homes are more available and usually rent for $1150 a month and up, two bedroom homes, when available rent for $900 and up.

Purchase Options

There are no programs available to assist active duty members in purchasing a house aboard NSA Mid-South. This is considered a buyer's market and cost of living moderate.

Mobile Homes

There is not a mobile home park on base.
