College/Technical Training

Glenn H. English Jr. Army Education Center (AEC)

The SSG Glenn H. English, Jr., Army Education Center (AEC) which is conveniently located at 202 Bastogne Avenue just inside Gate 4, offers a variety of educational programs and service to Soldiers and other members of the Fort Campbell and surrounding communities.

Counseling Services

The AEC provides a broad spectrum of guidance and counseling services, including information about Army tuition assistance, the Montgomery G.I. Bill and the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill. Counselors provide assistance and information pertaining to the requirements of the GoArmyEd portal as well as guidance in the selection of academic and vocational subjects. Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP)

BSEP is the Army’s primary on-duty education program for enlisted personnel that is designed to help Soldiers master functional reading, writing, and mathematical skills. It is a two-week (full day) on-duty program that aids Soldiers in raising their general technical (GT) score, thus enhancing re-enlistment and promotion potential, as well as their MOS efficiency. The Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) must be taken prior to enrollment. For more information about the program, call (270) 798-3402.

Army Personnel Testing Services

The Testing Center provides services to Soldiers by providing monitored testing, by appointment, to include: the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT), Basic Science and Math Test (BMST), Selection Instrument for Flight Training (SIFT), Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT), Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) and other military skill assessments. The SAT college entrance exam is offered on a monthly basis. For more information, contact the testing center at (270) 798-3402.

National Testing Center (NTC)

The NTC is operated by Hopkinsville Community College and offers a variety of exams to both civilians and Soldiers. KYOTE and Accuplacer assessments, proctored exams, CLEP and DSST exams are all offered at the center. Active duty Soldiers are exempt from fees for the CLEP and DSST exams which are no longer offered by Army testing services. Learning Resource Center (LRC)

The Learning Resource Center offers computers/ automation support and is available to Soldiers, Department of Defense civilians, adult family members including students attending classes at the Army Education Center. Current hours of operation, which are subject to change, are Monday – Friday, from 0800 – 1600 hours. For more information, call (270) 798-2918.

College Programs

The on-post college program is provided by Austin Peay State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Murray State University, and Hopkinsville Community College. These institutions provide a variety of associate, baccalaureate and master degree level programs to military personnel, as well as military Family members, retired military personnel and civilians. Education counselors can provide information on financial aid, tuition assistance and veteran’s benefits for Soldiers. For more information, contact the school office:
