Youth Services

Youth Center

Youth Center Open Recreation is a program that offers developmental and recreational programs for 10-12 year old youths. The facility is located at building 1622; telephone number (671) 366-3490.

Registration is free and we open for children from 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., Mon - Fri; closed on Saturdays, Sundays, PACAF days and federal holidays. We offer core programming based on 4-H and Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) Character & Leadership; Education & Career; Health & Life Skills; Sports, Fitness and Recreation and the Arts. We conduct overnight lock-ins, special events, outdoor activities, and field trips. We support DoDEA with their in-service trainings, no school days and half days by opening for children at 12:00 p.m. During the summer, we offer camps based on the interest of the children such as archery camp, cultural camp, sports camp, technology camp, basketball camp, cooking camp, drama camp, and arts and craft camp. A babysitting course is also offered once every quarter for youth ages 12-17 years old. The Youth Center also offers paid instructional classes such as music, which comprise of piano lessons, ukulele, guitar and drums. We also conduct music recitals. We also offer Ju-jitsu classes for 5-12 years old. For 2017 we added instructional class for ballet, gymnastics, tumbling, and dance such as jazz, tap and hip-hop.

Teen Center

Teen Center Open Recreation is a program offered for teens age 13-18 years old. The facility is located in building 1605 and is open from 2:00 p.m. – 5:30p.m., Monday – Friday, phone number (671) 366-7706. Registration is free. Teen program offers opportunities for education, career exploration and development.

Programs offered:

  • TEP (Teen Employment Program) is designed to help teens learn job, life skills and gain work experience and at the same time getting paid for it. It creates opportunities for teens to discover careers with Navy MWR programs.
  • The program also is affiliated with the BGCA and offers activities such as Youth of the Year, Science and Technology, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Theater and Music. It is also affiliated with the 4-H program.

Youth Center Sports Program

Our youth sports and fitness program plans and organizes, and conducts sports leagues, skills clinics, camps, fitness/health classes, special sporting events for children 5-18 years of age. Our sports program is affiliated with National Alliance for Youth Sports. We offer Start Smart programs for 3-5 years old, Start Smart Tennis, Start Smart Golf, Start Smart Football and General Sports Development, Start Smart Basketball and General Sport Development II.
