Population:  Goodfellow AFB is a joint service base that trains over 9,000 students a year from all services. At any given time, we have over 5,000 Military, 800 Civil Service, which includes NAF and Contracting employees, and 12,000 family members on the installation.

Schools:  Goodfellow Air Force Base is located in the San Angelo Independent School District (SAISD), 325-947-3700. There are no DoD Schools in the area.

Base Services:

Medical Services:  The 17th Medical Group provides general outpatient medical services to active duty personnel, their family members, retirees and their family members. The central appointment line is 325-654-3149.

The Goodfellow Clinic  does not provide emergency medical care. Emergency medical care is provided by Shannon Medical Center and San Angelo Community Medical Center.

Defense Service Network (DSN) Dialing Instructions

The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense (DoD). Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial (719) 567-1110. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.
